How amoled display saves battery in dark mode.

The AMOLED screen seem to be a great evolution in the field of digital devices whether it is a smartphone or a Smart TV or a smartwatch. Apart from its great image productivity  it has also many advantages over other LCD screens like always on display and under display fingerprint scanners.  It is said that amoled screens save battery in the dark mode, lets find out why.

How AMOLED display works.

An AMOLED display consists of a lively matrix of OLED pixels generating lightweight (luminescence) upon electrical activation that are deposited or integrated onto a thin-film semiconductor unit (TFT) array, that functions as a series of switches to manage the present flowing to every individual element.

Or in functional aspects we can say if the amoled display has to show the black color, it will just turn the pixel off instead of showing the black colour like LCD displays. For example if a youtube logo is being displayed, then on the screen only the pixel which is displaying the logo will be ON and at the other black part the pixel will be OFF to display the black colour. But this is not the case in LCD displays, if the black colour is displayed then it has to turn their pixel set to black colour.

How dark mode saves battery on AMOLED Displays.

Like we've said in the working of the AMOLED Display to show the black colour on the display it turn the pixels OFF instead of setting the pixel to show black. This method of turning the pixels OFF saves the noticable amount of battery.

Which means the more darker the screen more black pixels will be off, like suppose you are using your setting menu in dark menu and most of the part is black, then in that case practically only 20 percent of your screen is awake, for other 80 percent, the pixels are turned off to show the black part.

So in this way you can save some juice without compromising anything.
