How Truecaller Works

Truecaller is one of the most simple yet useful tool present in almost all smartphones now a days. Basically it tells you about the information for the unknown phone calls or phone no. you get or you dialled, and the information may consist of  the name of the phone no. owner, his mail id, his isp's information etc.

Ever imagined how truecaller knows about all the names of the phone no. you got? No, it never takes its data from TRAI or ISP's (Internet Service Provider) like airtel or jio. Just to make you clear about its working mechanism we are here with our new blog by our owner Priyam Shankar.

Truecaller working:

Like any other third party service providing app truecaller itself has a very large database which is made by the records of its own users. Basically truecaller collects data from its users itself, users are those who downloads the app and the data are all the saved contact information of all the people with name in the user's phone memory. You may have observed, truecaller asks for contact permission, which means you are giving permission to truecaller for uploading all your saved contact information to their database. This type of data is collected from all its millions of users making it works perfectly.

for example, suppose a phone no.12345 is saved in your phone with a name Bidit, then you installed truecaller,  after that truecaller automatically uploads that no. in its database by the name of Bidit. In future if anyone calls with the no.12345 to someone with truecaller installed then again the app will crawl through the database and will retrieve the data and show the name Bidit.

This was the simple working mechanism of truecaller app. I've tried to make it simpler but if I failed to make you understand then let me know in the comments down there.
