 Truecaller is one of the most simple but useful tool present in almost all smartphones now a days. Basically it tells you about the information for the unknown phone calls or phone no. you get or you dialled, and the information may consist of  the name of the phone no. owner, his mail id, his isp's (Internet Service Privider) information etc.

Truecaller requires many unnecessary permissions like access to microphone, camera, location, SMS, storage. You should necessarily block all these permission and should only grant your contact and telephone permission as they are necessary for truecaller to work. Microphone:
Truecaller can easily access through your microphone and listens to all your conversation and can use that data by showing ads or in any other similar way.

SMS:
The major threat is giving your sms permission to any one. You may simply loose all your money just by granting sms permission. how? See, If truecaller want, it can simply read all your otp arrived as you have granted the access to sms permission, which allow tuecaller to access to your otp.

Storage:
Truecaller can access all your photos and videos stored in your device as you have granted the storage permission for the app. This app may misuse it in many ways. So avoid giving any unnecessary permissions.

Your contact information:
Ever imagined where do the spammers like "win 1 crore overnight"or "get instant loan" messages sender got your number from?
And that sms have your name written on it. how do they know? The answer is truecaller itself! Either the spammers search for your name or the truecaller selling your information on the dark web.
